Yankees managed by Sammy Lopez and Nationals managed by Elmer Black, today had one of the lowest scoring games in my 24 years of playing WHSS. Neither team scored more than 3 runs per inning. Each team compiled 24 hits with good defense and pitching on both sides.
Nats took the early lead, 5-1 after 3 innings, only to watch the Yankees tie the score at 9 after 6. The Nats scored 4 in the next two innings for a total of 13. The Yankees could only muster 2 in the next 3 innings, making the final score 13-11 Nats.
Another well played game by both teams and most of all good sportsmanship.
