Solivita Softball
Thirteen players from Winter Haven ventured into Solivita on Friday, July 26th and brought their bats with them. We played two seven inning games beginning at 10:00 AM. Both games were close but Winter Haven won both of them. The first game was a 20-18 win and the second games was an 18-15 win. In the second game, Solivita had the bases loaded in the seventh inning with two outs when one of their big hitters took a ball deep to right center field but was caught by Eddie Hern with his back on the fence. Solivita has one tough team and is never out of a ball game until the last out is made.
Winter Haven hit 3 home runs in the first game and 6 home runs in the second game. Home runs were hit by Eddie Hern, Mike Vacarro, Dave Doerbaum, Luis Guzman, Dave Shirer, Manny Rios and Wally Granger. Everyone else had a good day at the plate.
A big THANKS to Solivita for the refreshments that were served by Solivita after the game.

No games in Winter Haven today. All fields have standing water. I haven't heard from Solivita yet. Check website after 7:30.

SEBRING SOFTBALL
We took 15 players to Sebring this morning to play a good bunch of ball players from Sebring. Charlie Giordano organized the guys from Sebring. We played a seven inning double header with a 7 run limit per inning. Sebring won the first game by three runs and Winter Haven won the second game by four runs. Dave Doerbaum pitched the first game and JD Davis pitched the second game. Dave Doerbaum and Dave Reed hit homers. Thanks to Nick Matta for umpiring the first game.
Next up is Solivita for this Friday. We need to be at the fields in Solivita around 9:30 AM. They called me and said they would like to get started as soon after 10:00 as possible. The address for the fields is Freedom Park, 395 Village Drive. Kissimmee, FL 34759. We will be wearing our Blue Shirts again. Any questions, call me.

SEBRING SOFTBALL & SOLIVITA SOFTBALL
The folks from Sebring would like for us to come visit them and play a double header softball game on Tuesday, July 23rd. The Games would begin at 9:30 AM. You would need to be at the Sebring ball park no later than 9:00 to start batting practice. The sign ups began yesterday and the sign up sheet will be there on Tuesday, July 16th. If you are interested in playing in Sebring, please sign up.
The address for the Sebring softball complex is 216 Sheriffs Tower Road, Sebring, 33870. The fields are a one hour drive from the Diamondplex. We will be wearing our Blue Winter Haven Shirts.
Also, we are scheduled to play Solivita on Friday, July 26th in Solivita. The sign up sheet will be there on Tuesday, July 16th. Please sign up if you are interested in going to Solivita. We will be wearing our Blue Winter Haven Shirts for this game also.

We will not be able to play ball this Friday, July 5th. The City of Winter Haven called me a while ago and said that had a 12 inch water main break under one of the fields and they have the complex shut down on Friday for repairs. They are also having to get ready for a tournament that starts on Saturday.
Take this time to enjoy the July 4th weekend and we will see you on Tuesday.
