The Flyers and Dukes had quite a close game for 7 innings. The Dukes jumped out to an 8-2 lead after 3 innings but the Flyers tied it up at 8 by holding them scoreless in top of the 4th and scoring 6 in the bottom. In the 5th, the Flyers took a 1 run lead at 11-10 but could only manage to score 2 more times during the last 4 innings. Mean time, Dukes were scoring 2, 5, 1 and finishing it off with 12 in the open inning for a final of 30-12 in favor of the Dukes.
A great running catch was made by Frank Jacobs in left field for the Dukes. Pool player Ed Gazarak also made 2 fine running catches in right center and John Boito made a fine spinning, fielding play up the middle for the Flyers.
