RECAP FOR THE WEEK OF 12/28 - 12/31

Tuesday, Dec 28th

The Commish and Joe D'Herin are going to try to put league teams together this week. There were 52 National League players that showed up today. The 4 teams that had the most players were selected to be the lead teams and we used the remaining players to make 4 teams of 13 players. I did not get any write ups from Tuesday's games but both games were one run games.

Friday, Dec 31st.

The City of Winter Haven was closed today so we had the ballpark to ourselves. The American League played their game on Field C.

Today the American League ended 2021 with a 15 player 5 on 5 on 5 game. Teams were led by Lou Guzman, Tommy Hamilton, and JD Davis.

Team Lou scored every inning with 5 runs, choosing not to score more than 5 runs in the last inning.

Team Hamilton just didn’t have it today although they made some great defensive plays.

Team JD kept fighting until the end, scoring 8 runs in the last inning.

Final score was 20-2-20.
Special shout-out to Manny Rios who hit two over the fence home runs.

We look forward to opening day Tuesday, January 4th, 2022.
We will try to schedule games with other clubs in the season. We will take on Sebring on Friday, January 28, 2022.

From LGG.

The National League players showed up today. We had 5 teams so we made one 2 team game and one 3 team game. Again, I did not get any writeups from anyone but the 2 team game winner was three runs ahead. On the 3 team game, the lead changes several times during the game and in the bottom of the 6th inning, the score was 13-11-12. It was going to be anyone's game until the 13 team batted. They scored 14 runs on so many hits you could not count them all. The other two teams did not score in the bottom of the 7th inning so the final score was 27-11-12. Senior softball is a crazy game.
