A good game was played today between Fabian's Flyers and the Coconuts. The Coconuts prevailed in late innings after a close game early on. Final score is Coconuts 19 Flyers 13.
Good hitting for the Coconuts were Bob Zelazny 4/4, Julian Puma 3/4, Tim Gallagher 3/4, Gerry DeRitter 3/4, Jim Altemose 3/4, and Ron Thompson 3/4.
For the Flyers strong offense came from Eddie Gazarek, Bob Ayers, Rick Brock, Kirk Coffman and Mitch Peterson who all hit 3 for 4.
The pitching on both sides was solid. Kathy McDonald made some fine defensive plays at 2nd base. She took a hard hit ball on the leg but was able to continue playing.
We thank Lauren Fabian for umpiring the bases all game.
Rick Brock also made excellent plays at 2nd base for the Flyers.
