The Warriors vs the Dukes played on Field A .
The Warriors plated two to start the scoring after two outs on hits by Denny Shaffer, Don Keller, Gary Anderson and Ray Levesque. The Dukes brought their bats today, scoring five in the bottom of the inning on RBI hits by Bill Rutan, Chris Lynch, Al Andrews, Jim Hunter and Norm Learn. 5-2 Dukes after one.
The Dukes bottom of the order came through in the 2nd with three, on hits by Jim Reed, John Gibson and Bob Reagan. Dukes 8-2 after two.
The Dukes pitching had a little wildness in the 3rd around timely Warriors hitting to tie the score at 8, the Dukes managed one in the bottom of the inning. 9-8 Dukes after three.
The Warriors plated one in the 4th on hits by Bob Skidmore, Richie Marino, and Wally Wallace to retie the game at nine.
Good Dukes kept hitting as good pitching and solid defense held the Warriors in check the rest of the game. The Dukes clearly had their best game so far of this season.
The final score was Dukes 20 Warriors 11.
