Tuesday, 1/17/23                       Yankees-visitors vs. Warriors-home

“A lot of hits” by both teams (along with quite a few errant throws), was the name of this game.  Warriors scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st on multiple hits.  The Yankees came back with 5 runs in the top of the 2nd on multiple hits and walks.

The Warriors countered with 4 more runs in the bottom of the 2nd with Steve Hicks getting a 2B.  The Yankees got 2 runs in the 3rd on Freddie Gonzalez’s 2 run HR.  It was Warriors 14-Yankees 10 after 4 innings, but pretty much all Warriors until the end.

Rob Reed hit a 3-run HR for the Yankees in the eighth.   Some fine defensive plays by Bill King SS, Denny Shaffer LF for the Warriors, and Rob Reed RC for the Yankees threw out “yours truly” at 1st base on a ball hit to the outfield.

 Final score:  Warriors 33-Yankees 17.
