Both teams scored three times in the first frame and went scoreless the next two innings. Thru the next 4 innings Welton's visitors built up an 8 run lead and looked ready to seal the deal. The game ended when the rain came down harder and both coaches decided field and weather conditions dictated that play be halted for the day. Both teams fielded a core of what will be their league squad with a few non team members in order to complete a team for the day.
