Flooded out

Yes, we were flooded out of field B this morning so the commish had to do some last minute shuffling of teams and fields.  The "Tate" or Muscle Central team under Joe D'Herin played visitors to The Enjoyment Book "All Stars" in what started out to be a close game. Can't say that it ended up that way.

The Home team put up 5 runs without making an out in the bottom of the first and it took Joe's visitors 3 innings to catch up.   But then the Home squad  failed to score again until they posted a single run in the bottom of the 5th.  By then it was over.

Excepting Tom Hamilton's doubles and triples, and Bob Vandenberg's 3rd inning double the visiting squad singled their way into a 17-9 lead by the end of 7.

The Home squad meanwhile hit the ball hard but every liner seemed to land in the visitor's gloves.  Jose Rivera made an outstanding catch or two in center field and Jeff Steirs played an excellent shortstop.  Meanwhile the Home boys turned in some great defense of their own with Juan Toro, Al Andrews and Don Keller contributing excellent plays in the outfield.

Final Score Visitors 22, Home Team 13.  As they say "if they don't win it's a shame" ... it was.
