Another beautiful day for softball at the Diamondplex. Today’s game was between Wally’s World and Don’s Yankees. Both teams having trouble this season with wins but the competition is tough in this league. The Yankees held a one game lead over the World for last place, but who’s counting? Both teams only fielded 11 players due to injuries and shortage of pool players. BUT, both teams played well and it was a very close game with Wally’s World holding off the charging Yankees in the 9th to win 21-19.
Leading hitters for Wally’s World were:
George Vanderhyde who went 5-5 with a 2B and 2- 3B. Great job George!
Pablo Garcia went 4-5
Bill Testa and Jorge Gonzales both went 3-5
For the Yankees:
Fred Dampier went 5-5 Great job Fred!
Don Keller, Bobby Castilleja and Gerry DeRidder went 4-5
Henry Rivero went 3-5
