NOTES FROM THE LEAGUE MEETING ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH
those of you that were not at the League Meeting on ForTuesday, February 13th, the latest news is that our last game at the Diamondplex is Tuesday, February 27th. After that, the National League will be playing ball for the Month of March at the Greater Winter Haven Youth Baseball fields at Sertoma Park. These field are first class but only have 200 ft. fences. We will adjust our playing rules to accommodate the fences. The address of the fields is 1651 Lake Shipp Drive, Winter Haven Florida 33830. You can google Sertoma Park, Greater Winter Haven Youth Baseball or Lake Shipp Park and get directions to the ball fields. The plan is to continue the Tournament games with all six teams.
The American League will be playing at the Poinciana Community Park where they have played for the past four or five years. The address for the park is 5109 Allegheny Rd, Poinciana, Fl. 34759. You can google Poinciana Community Park to get directions to the field. Both Leagues will return to the Diamondplex on Tuesday, April 2nd. We will begin our pickup ball season then.
Hall of Fame Banquet tickets are still on sale. The cutoff date for Ticket purchases is Friday, March 1st. We have to let the caterer know how many people will be there so he can order the food for the Banquet.
Enjoyment books are still on sale. The cutoff date for book sales is April 2nd. The profits from the sale of the books are used to help fund the league.
For those of you that have played in the Tournament that began on January 5th, the Board has once again decided to buy each player a pair of shorts. The shorts are going to be Navy Blue with the WHSS Logo on them. This gift is for your participation in the Tournament.
