Today's game between Fabian's Flyers and Hill's Dukes was played on Field C .
The Flyers had trouble getting untracked today going scoreless in the first 3 inning . The Dukes posted 4 in the bottom of the first and 5 in both the 2nd and 3rd innings .
The Flyers got on the board in the 4th with Kurt Essemacher's 3 run homer with Kurt Coffman and George Vanderhyde aboard . The Dukes answered with 2 runs . The Dukes added 3 runs in the 5th and 5 in the 6th innings .
George Vanderhyde opened the 7th with his 2nd double in a row . After 2 outs , the Flyers scored 3 runs , on 5 straight hits . It looked like the Flyers might score more runs , but right fielder Martin Spellman scooped up Gisele Seguin's single and fired a one hopper to 3rd baseman Dave Hartley , who tagged the runner trying to go 1st to 3rd on the play . The Dukes got just one run in the 7th as Gerry Andrews knocked in Jim Altemose . They added 5 in the 8th on RBI hits , again by Dave Hartley and Jim Altemose , who were hot all day .
The Flyers came out firing in the 9th , scoring 4 with only one out, on hits Tom Benson, Jim Hunter , Bob Hite and Gisele Seguin before 2 ground outs end the game. 30 - 10 Dukes .
