The game this day on Field D was between O’Callaghan’s Post 8
team being the visitors and Strait’s Red Hoagland home team. Post 8 team batted in this order: Gibbons,
Torok, Constantine, Boswell, Laffoon, Wells, Zakrowski, Miller, Castillega,
Spearer, Black, Fryzowicz, and O’Callaghan. Red Hoagland team took the field
and batted in this order: Newton, Knox,
Ayer, McLellan, Levesque, Burtner, LeTourneau, Polk, LoPiccolo, LaMay, Boito,
and Wally.
First off we need a scorekeeping class so we can make better
write-ups. We need to know if the hitters had 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, W, or BB. Enough said.
First inning had Alf Gibbons leading off with a drive to deep
center field for a home run and the only run of the inning. Strait’s Red guys in Green shirts came to bat
and the first four batters reached base and scored. Score after one inning was Visitors 1 and
Home team 4. Post 8 answered in the next three innings with 15 runs. Home guys
posted only 4 runs over those innings. Post
8 took a rest in the fifth putting up a zero, and Strait’s added 2 runs. After 5 the score was 16 to 10. Visitors 7 runs over the next 3 innings and
Home team added 4. Visitors up by nine
runs (no flip-flop) the both teams scoring 6 runs in the last innings. Final
Visitors 29 Home 20.

2 by Gibbons and one by Levesque.
Great defense from Boswell on two leaping grabs at 2nd
base.
