A National League game on the short field today between Hill's Duke's and Fabian's Flyers. Nearly 50 runs scored as the final was 29-20 in favor of the Duke's. It started out as a rout as it was 23-7 after 4 1/2 innings. Then the Flyers woke up and scored 5-4 and 4 runs in the next 3 innings but did a goose egg in the open 8th inning to provide the final.
Every player had ad least one hit and some 5. But it is tough to determine the number of hits when all that is marked on the score sheet is the player scored. Please just mark a hit, FC or Error.
In spite of the high score, there were several outstanding defensive plays. Zelazney made a great running catch of a sinking liner as did Essenmacher. Both centerfielders. Vanderhyde went high in the air (at least 6") to snag a backhanded line drive and Fabian got his glove in front of his face in time to save his nose from another screaming liner.
It is fun. Keep it that way. See y'all Tuesday
