Today's game between Steve Hick's Dukes and The Fighting Coconuts was well played and with good friendship.
The Coconuts started out with a 7 to 1 lead by the end of the second inning. The Dukes scored 5 in the 3rd. Still the Coconuts were leading 11 to 8 at the start of the 5th. Then the Dukes put good hitting together with 4 runs in the 5th and 5 in the 6th.
Final score was Dukes 20 vs Coconuts 15.
Leading hitters for the Dukes were Frank Jacobs, Greg Denny and Joe Peske who all hit 4/4. Hal Ridley, Don LeMay, and Steve Hill had significant and timely hits from the plate.
For the Coconuts B.J. Kallister and Bob Zelazny were 4/4 and drove in runners on base.
On defense Greg Denny, Joe Peske and Greg Swenson made many put outs on the infield for the Dukes.
Kathy McDonald, Tom Capozzi and Bob Ayers were sharp on defense for the Coconuts.
