A well played game between The Flyers and The Legion in which the Flyers extended their winning streak to 2 with an 18-16 win.
Both teams scored 5 in the opening inning but the scoring slowed down then, with the Flyers leading 13-8 after 5 innings. Then the Flyers put up another nickel in the top of 6 to lead by 9 and the Legion only plated 1 so it was 18-9 going to the open inning. The Flyers did a goose egg in the top and the bottom of the Legion order laced up their hitting shoes and plated 7 runs before getting to the top of the order when the Flyers defense stiffened with a fine running catch in left by Al Andrews and a game ending ground ball on another fine play by Bobby Castilleja at 2nd base for the final of 18-16. And Don Torok also made a super running catch earlier in the game for the Legion to squelch a potential big inning.
