About mid-season and the Flyers are struggling to gain their 2nd win and couldn't do it against Elmer Black's Nationals. The Nats charged out with 11 runs thru 2 1/2 innings and led 11-1 until the Flyers came to the plate in the bottom of the 3rd in which they scored 8 to come within reach. But the Nats put up another nickel in the top of the 4th and that was the end of the big scoring for either team and the final ended up 21-13 in favor of the Nationals.
