The Yankees and the Fighting Coconuts played a good game today. Great sportsmanship was seen all around.
Each team welcomed pool players to round out the number on each team to 14. Five outfielders were played with 2 players rotating from the bench. Pool players on the Yankee roster were Bob Hite and Debbie DeLuca. Helping the Coconuts as pool players were Dan Parker, Joe D'Herin and Larry Bennett.
The Coconuts won 17 to 7.
Don Keller and Bobby Castilleja led the Yankee hitting while Jose Rivera and Gary Anderson were solid for the Coconuts. Other hitters on both teams did well.
Prayer was held at the mound after the game. We remembered that Greg Denny and his wife Terry will fly to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota next Tuesday for Terry to receive some treatment.
