A very good game was played today between the Mets and the Fighting Coconuts. The Coconuts won 13 to 8.
Ron Thompson and Pat Lopiccolo shared pitching duties and also playing defense were George Knox, Juan Toro, Bobby Skidmore, Jerry DeJongh, Rick Brock, Bob Zelazny, Jimmy Vining, Bob Vandenburg, John Boito, Ken Meyer, and Mark White.
Pitchers for the Coconuts were Josh Wells and Steve Pinnick. Other defensive players were Jose Rivera, Nestor Aponte, Greg Denny, Gary Anderson, Larry Grabb, Joe Peskie, Denny Shaffer, Bill Rutan, Kevin Marsh, Robert Spitaleri and Bob Hite.
Both teams did well defensively and had good hitting at times.
We welcome Bob Hite back as a pool player. He has moved to Maryland but is with us for a month. Thank you Bob.
We also welcome new players Kevin Marsh and Mark White.
We thank Loren Fabian for umpiring.
