The game between the Flyers and the OJ's was played on field B . The Flyers opened the scoring in the top of the first inning on hits by Art Zakrowski and Chris Constantine to take a 1-0 lead . The OJ's answer on RBI hits by Don Schapler and Jim Laffoon to take a 2-1 lead after one .
Both teams went scoreless in the 2nd and it looked like it was going to be a tight low scoring game , before the OJ's post 5 runs on in the bottom of the 3rd on 6 straight hits , keyed by their lead off hitter Larry Chrest's double .
The Flyers offence never found its stride as the OJ's continued to score . Final score 21 -1
Neither pitcher Pat Lapiccolo or Jerry Witter ( wp ) walked a single runner .
