After a
cancelation for cold weather and a rainout The Boys of Summer are here to play
ball. Two teams managed by Steve Hill and Larry Strait met on Field A. visiting Brave’s batted in this order: Marino, Newton, Burtner, Hite, Boito, Letourneau,
Kriger, Altemose, Strait, Fryzowicz, Peskie, Andrews, and LaMay. Manager Steve Hill’s OJ’s took the field with
Chrest, Castillo, Hill, Laffoon, Lopez, Spegel, Witter, Weber, Waddell, Capozzi,
and Lloyd.
Marino
started the game with a liner to left center, Newton got a free pass and Hite
drove in the first run of the new season.
Letourneau followed with another base rap to drive in a run. Bottom of the inning started out with two
flyouts. Hill then drove a liner to
right center, Laffoon walked and Lopez drove one up the middle for home teams
first run of the season. Braves went
down 1 2 3 in the second.
Witter walked to start the bottom of the inning followed by singles from Weber and Waddell. End of two game tied at two.

Braves went
out in order in the 3rd and the OJ’s had singles from Castillo,
Laffoon, and Lopez to take a 3 to 2 lead.
In the next three innings the Braves added 8 runs while the OJ’s tallied
4 over the same time. After 6 Brave’s up
10 to 7. Both teams zeroed out in the 7th
inning. Pressure started to mount when
the OJ’s bottom of the line up started with singles from Weber, Waddell, Capozzi
produced 2 runs. Game now 10 to 9. OJ’s added a run in the bottom of the 9th
on singles from Laffoon and Lopez to tie the game. Both teams added a run in 10th and
the game ended in a 11 all tie.

hitters for the Braves: Burtner, Hite,
and Letourneau 3 for 4, Boito, Altemose, Fryzowicz and Peskie 2 for 4.

hitter for the OJ’s Castillo, 3 for 6, Lopez 4 for 5, Lafoon, Weber and Waddell 2
for 4.
