Having been rained out last Tuesday , both teams were eagerly ready for the big matchup , Tuesday Morning. However , just before game time , the Yankees were informed that one of their key players , Juan Toro , would be unavailable , due to the flu virus . That put the upbeat Yankees in a rather Somber and Moody frame of mind. Adding insult to injury , the A's came out slugging , with 19 runs , in the first four (4) innings alone , giving the Yankees a terrific case of the Blues . You could say , that the Yankees , were facing a 'MOODY BLUES' kind of morning. As the A's were taking the field , in the top of the 5th inning , they were overheard telling the Yankees , " You better hope for a better , "Tuesday Afternoon" ! The only remaining "Question" , was whether the Yankees could rally and overcome Matta's, A's, band of "Gypsies".
Well , as luck would have it , Guzzo's , Yankees , must have heard some "Voices in the Sky" , as they rallied for seven (7) runs in the bottom of the 5th , to cut the deficit to 21-14 . They were definitely feeling the love , and , hoping to "Ride My Seesaw" . Well , the A's were having none of it , and poured on 10 more runs in the last 4 innings , to walk off with an impressive 31-18 victory . The Yankees , left the field despondent , hoping that they could, at a minimum , be consoled, by their significant others, with a least a couple of "Nights in White Satin" .
