The Braves vs the Warriors on Field E (not Field A).
The Braves got off to a great start by scoring 5 runs in the first and fourth innings.
The Warriors started slow only scoring 8 runs the first four innings.
By the end of seven innings, the score was Braves 20 Warriors 10.
The eighth inning was exciting. The Warriors were down 24 to 10 when they came up the bat in the bottom of the eighth. They scored 13 runs and closed the score to 24-23 at the end of eight innings. But the Braves added 4 more runs in the top of the ninth. The Warriors were shut out in the bottom of the ninth.
Final score was Braves 28 to 23 for the Warriors.
Pat LoPiccolo was the winning pitcher for the Braves.
Hitters were:Richard Newton 5-6,Leo Kriger 6-6, Joe Peskie 5-6.
Larry Strait , Team Manager, had a base clearing double that drove in 3 runners in the seventh inning to lead his team to victory.
Hitters for the Warriors were: Freddy Gonzales 4-5, including one home run and 2 doubles, one triple, Bill Rutan 4-5, including one home run, Bob Vandenberg 5-5, including one triple, 3 doubles, Art Zakrowski 3-5, Don Hawbaker 3-5, Hal Ridley 4-5, including one double.
