Second game of the season at WHSS matched up teams managed by Russ King for the Post 8, and Larry Strait for the Braves guys. King’s players were Pinnick, Reagan, Lopez, Knox, King, Walton, Gisele, O’Callahan, Black, Cathy McDonald, McPartlan. The Strait guys were, Herb O., Newton, Peskie, McLellan, Strait, Letourneau, Kreiger, Torok, LaMay, Lipiccolo, and Andrews.

Post 8 had singles from Pinnick and Lopez and an RBI for Knox to produce a run. Then Gisele mowed down the first 3 hitters for the Braves. Second inning had hits from Walton and Black, but a double play ended the inning.  McLellan started off the bottom of the inning with a liner up the middle, Letourneau and Kreiger had hits and Torok’s fielder choice drove in the 3rd run for the Braves.  McPartlan led off the third with a drive up the middle, Pinnick singled, an infield out and Lopez hit a line drive to the right field corner for a home run but only made it to third. Knox knocked him in and singles from King, Walton and Gisele drove in the 5th run of the inning.  Andrew’s led off the bottom half with the first of his four singles for the day, followed by hits from, Newton, McLellan, Strait and Letourneau for the 4th run of the inning. 

After 3 the score was tied at 6 each.  Lipiccolo was hitting the corners in the 4th and retired Post 8   1,2,3.  Braves added 5 more in the bottom of the 4th.  Post 8 pushed across 3 in the next 2 frames while The Braves added 2 runs in those innings.   Post 8 tallied 4 runs in the 7th to tie the game at 13 all. 

Post 8 went down in order in the 8th and the Braves had six singles and another base rap from Letourneau drove in the 5th run of the inning.  Post 8 rallied for 3 in the top of the 9th but came up short.  Final was Post 8   16 and the Braves 18.

Top hitter for Post 8: Pinnick 3 for 5, Lopez 5 for 5 3B, King 3 for 5, Walton 5 for 5, Black 3 for 4.

Hitters for Braves: Newton and Peskie 3 for 5, McLellan 5 for 5, Letourneau 4 for 5, Lopiccolo 3 for 4, and Andrews 4 for 4.
