Visitors: Simon's Yankees Home: Straits Tigers Field E
On a cool, very windy Tuesday, Simon's Yankees made it look
like a runaway with 11 runs through the first 5 innings. Straits Tigers got 3 in the first, then
goose eggs through the 5th. Then, "Sadie bar the door", the Tigers got 8 runs through the 9th to tie
the score at 11 all. On to the 10th. tension was high as the Yankees got 1 run in the 10th. A hush fell
over the crowd ( all 3 of us) as the Tigers came up to
bat. Hill started the inning on second, Aufiero hit a a single, then with 2
outs and 2 on Joe LaTourneau hit a double through the box,
bringing Hill and Aufield home to win the game 13 to12. Good fun game all around.
