A's
vs. Angels, 1/6/17.
Groucho
Marx said, “Getting
older is no problem. You just have to live long enough.” I say, “If you play
softball long enough, you will see every type of score/hit/play/comeback, or
error. In the AL game, A’s vs Angels, on Friday, Jan. 6th, we saw a
little bit of everything; missed balls, HRs, clutch hitting and a lack of
hitting. For the 2nd game in a row the A’s recorded an oddity in
their scoring. In our first game, last Tuesday, we scored 21 runs in six
innings, then finished the game with those same 21 runs as our final score.
Meaning we did not score in the 7th, 8th and
9th. We lost that game. History repeated itself, sort of, in Fridays
game. We scored 22 runs through six innings. It looked like we could hit until
the cows came home, problem is the cows came home in the 6th inning again. We
were shut out the rest of the way. This time we managed to win the game. There
were many highlights in the game, I’ll give you two of them. Dave Shipley hit a
massive homerun into the palm tree in centerfield. Dave Shirer hit 5 doubles, he
was a perfect 5/5. Final Score: A’s: 22-Angels: 18.
