Field  A on Fri, Jan. 13,  Fabian's Flyers vs Simon's Yankees was shortened and only six and a half innings were completed.  Both managers were notified that the Polk State College girls softball team would need the field by 10:30 AM and we had to adhere to the  time.  With the short outfield fence a number of players hit ground rule doubles.  For the Flyers Boswell hit two over the fence and Doug Hapeman hit one over the fence.  Mutch and Hartley  each hit one out for the home team Yankees.  Bill Mutch was the winning pitcher.  The final score was 18-13.   Outstanding on defense was Laffoon for the visitors  with a flawless performance at SS.  Dean Schapler and Larry Grabb made great catches in the outfield for the home squad.     note: even with a shortened game all payers had at least 3 at bats and many players had 4 at bats.
