Lot of
snow birds showing up today. Three
fields were used today. The National
League game was held on Field E with right field being the sun field. The sun was shining bright but it was a
little cool for this time of the year.
The visiting team known as the
KINGS were led by Russ King and his court included Guspyt, Miller(the Frank
type) Marino, King, Bloom, B.Mohan, Waddell, Crowe, Barnes, Mohan (at the Mike
guy) Ayala, Karen Holley, and Lee (the man) Baker. The home team known as the SIMONS managed by
Jeff Simon who lined his team up like this.
D. Hill, Burns, Simon, McLellan, Moots, Ducham, Zakrowski, Witter,
Taylor, Merritt, Welton, J. Smith and Holder.
The
Kings came out swinging hot bats on the cool morning. Guspyt, Miller, Marino had
base hits to load the bases. King
follows with a triple to drive in two and error to the next batter and a single
by B. Mohan drove in the 5 run. Hill
leads off for the Simons with a sharp liner to left after an out Simon slashes
one to right centerfield and Moots and Ducham have singles and after one inning
the score is Kings 5 – Simons 2.
For the
next 6 innings this game turned out to be a pitchers battle. In those 6 innings neither team scored more
than two runs. Pitching for the Kings
was Waddell with relief help in the middle innings from new comer Karen Holley
while the Simons had Witter on the mound.
In the
eithth inning Guspyt leads off with a liner to left, Miller and Marino follows
with hard hit base hits. After an error
and fielders choice four more hits by B. Mohan, Waddell, Crowe, and Barnes
drives in the 5 run of the inning. After
the Simons were held scoreless in the 8th the Kings added another 5
runs in top of the 9th to put this one into the record book. Kings 21
Simons 7.
