Our games today were shortened a bit by having an 11am deadline for getting off the fields. The grounds crew needed the time to get the temporary 200ft fences set up for a tournament this weekend. So it goes some days.
Still we had 6 teams playing on three fields.
On Field E we had two of the 2015 American League managers squaring off. Tom Hamilton's squad of Oesterreich, Wiltshire, DeRidder, Levesque, Andrews, Schappler, Marino, Wells and LoPiccolo played against Ron Butler's team of Witter, Hartley, Toro, Jacobson, Torres, Hill, Kallister, Hite, Wheeler and new player Bob Spitaleri.
While the teams looked good on paper it turned out to be a lopsided affair with Tom's boys putting up 12 runs before Ron's guys scored their first run. Hey now, we were just doing our part to keep the game inside the time limit but Tom's team wouldn't cooperate.
Mercifully the game ended after 6 innings since we had passed the "don't not start an inning after 10:45" rule deadline.
Final Score
Visitors (Tom Hamilton) 18 and the Home Team (Ron Butler) 1 yes, one run. (not my fault).
