2018 Field D
The OJ’s and the Braves
showed up to play another knock down drag out game today. Game was on
field D with the sun shinning in the face of the outfield and left side of the
infield. OJ’s being the visitors today batted in this order Chrest,
Castillo, Steve Hill, Don Schapeler, Laffoon, Lopez, Webber, Waddell, Capozzi,
Spegel, Gisele Sequin and Witter. Home team took the field with
Fryzowicz, Newton, Burtner, Hite, Kriger, LeTournes, Boito, Peske,
Marino, Dudley, Altemose, Andrews, LaMay, and Strait.
First inning has Chrest
leads off with a walk, Castillo follows with a liner to left, Hill hit a deep
line to right center for an out with Chrest moving to 3rd on the
play. Schapeler hit a hard grounder in the hole and Burnter fields the
ball and fires to Hite at second to Newton at first for a double play.
Fryzowicz lines a single to start the inning for the Home team. Newton
hit one up the middle moving the runner to 3rd, then Hite hit a deep
fly to the outfield to score the runner. One to nothing at the end of
one.
The second inning has
both teams posting 5 runs. OJ’s key hits in the inning were from Lopez,
Weber, Waddell, Spegel, Seguin and Chrest driving in the 5th
run. Braves key hits were Boito, Peske, Marino, Dudley and a two out
liner down the leftfield line off the bat of LaMay for the 5th run
of the inning. OJ’s added another run in the third but the Braves added 4
in the bottom of the inning to take a 10 to 6 lead. OJ’s added one run in
the 5th and 6th innings while holding the Braves
scoreless in both innings. Hill’s guys took the lead in the top of the 6th
with a 5 run rally. Strait’s team came up with 2 in the bottom of the
inning to make the score OJ's 13 Braves 12.
OJ’s add to their lead
with 4 runs in the 7th and 8th innings while holding the
Braves to a single run in the 8th. Both teams were scoreless
in the 9th and the final score was OJ’s 21 Braves 13.
Excellent plays from Braves was a running grab by Fryzowicz on a liner headed
to the fence. LeTourneau made good catches in right center. Play of
the game was for the last outs of the game. With one out and a runner on
first and Boito at the plate, he hit a shot in the hole between short and
third. Lopez move quickly in the hole to grab the ball while headed to
the foul line he backhands the ball to 2nd base who relays it to
first for a game ending double play. Nice play Sam.
OJ’s leading
hitters. Chrest 2 for 3 with 2 walks, Castillo 2 for 4, Hill 2 for 4,
Laffoon 3 for 4, Weber 4 for5, Waddell 3 for 4 with Walk, Capozzi, Spegel and
Seguin all 3 for 5.
Braves leading
hitters. Fryzowicz 3 for 4, Newton 4 for 4, Hite 2 for 3 with walk,
LeTourneau HR, Peske 2 for 3 with 3B, Marino, Dudley and Strait all 2 for 3 and
LaMay 2 for 2 with walk.
