National League (Field C) Recap.

Marshall slugs one

The senior league had an even bigger blow out than the Giants & St.Louis in the National League play offs.

Team Mills clobbered team Thompson 24-9 scoring in each of the nine innings and the majority of their runs were scored after two outs.

Richie Moots, Frank Miller, and Larry Chrest all chipped in with four hits and the first nine hitters all scored at least one run. The score sheet showed a home run by Bill Miller which let the outfielder avoid a three base error. Ray Mills pitched well and got great support from a great fielding outfield.

The Thompson team never scored more than two runs in any inning but did have Litzke & Thompson go four for four and Leggett & Smith went three for four. Thompson scored four runs and no one else could find the plate more than one time in the losing effort.

Don't forget to bring $30.00 in cash or a check made out to Winter Haven Softball for your enjoyment book which is our annual fund raiser.  The book has hundreds of 2-for-1 offers and is a great way to stretch your purchasing power while supporting our great league.

See you all again Friday.    RDT
