Today, the American League travel team headed over to Solivita for an exciting three-team tournament. The first game featured Winter Haven facing off against the Kissimmee All-Stars. The game was a thrilling back-and-forth battle, with Winter Haven holding a 14-19 lead going into the top of the seventh inning. However, Kissimmee staged a remarkable comeback, scoring six runs to secure a 20-19 victory.
In the second game, Winter Haven took on the Solivita Red, White, and Blue team. Solivita got off to a strong start, scoring three runs while Winter Haven struggled to get on the board. However, Winter Haven quickly turned the tide in the second inning, scoring five runs to take the lead. The game remained close throughout, with Solivita holding a slim 16-15 lead going into the final inning. With two outs and runners on first and second, Mike Vaccaro stepped up to the plate and delivered a clutch single, scoring two runs to secure a thrilling 17-16 victory for Winter Haven.
