The game was played on the small Field B and bats were restricted to wooden bats and bats authorized by the league.
There was only one ball hit out of the park and that was by Toro to left field along with two other hits.
George Knox, Jerry DeJongh, and Rick Brock liked the wooden bats and went four for four and Bob Vandenberg went three for four.
The three players over age 80 who could use any bat they wanted found that the batter, not the bat is what matters and only went two for twelve.
James Fears coming out of the pool for Wally World was the only player going three for four.
Vandenberg and Norman both pitched well, and the final score was l9-4 Mets.
