A very good game was enjoyed today between the N.Y. Mets and the Fighting Coconuts. The Mets won 18 to 17 with both teams hitting well in the 9th inning. The Coconuts were the home team and were down by 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th. They rallied but came up short by one run. Congratulations to the Mets managed by Pat Lopiccolo and Ron Thompson.
We were glad to have Jim Parker and Willie Morton as pool players today. Willie is long time player here at Winter Haven who is visiting from his new home in Virginia.
Prayer was held at the pitcher's mound after the game and we lifted up our needs and gave thanks for our health, friendships and more.
