American League update 3/17/24
Today, the American League faced off against the combined Solivita-Kissimmee team for a Saint Patty’s Day showdown at Solivita. Unfortunately, it seemed like our Winter Haven boys left their shillelaghs at home, as we only managed to score five runs in four innings. It was as if we were in dire need of some lucky four-leaf clovers because we couldn't seem to find our groove at the plate. The final score was a disappointing 12-19, leaving us without a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
In the second game, we were hopeful that our luck would turn around after indulging in some soda bread and dreaming of a refreshing Guinness. Alas, luck was not on our side. It felt like we needed some corned beef and cabbage because we played as if we had just devoured green eggs and ham. With only six runs scored, we fell short with a final score of 6-12. Not our finest performance, but we're already looking forward to the challenge that next month will bring.
