Another very competitive game between the Dukes and Mets. The Dukes got off to an early lead of 15-5 at the end of five but the Mets came back and led the game at 17-16 at the end of seven. The last two innings were all Dukes scoring 10 runs and the Mets only one for a final score of 26-18 Dukes. There were four or five balls hit over the fence but there was no way to tell from the scorecard who hit them as there were other 2 base hits inside the park.
Pete, Ed, Rob, and Al went five for six for the Dukes and John went four for five.
Knox and DeJongh went five for six, Brock four for six, Boito and soon to be 86 years old Thompson went four for five for the Mets.
The game was self-officiated, and no arguments occurred. The first day at the new fields went well at field C.
