Star Wars
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
We had a galaxy of star WHSS, AL players, take the field in a battle between the Dark Side and the Jedi Knights on 2/19.
Vadar’s Dark Side: Hicks, Stier, Netzel, Rios, JD, Epperson, Ferande, Gonzales, Grove, Newman, Guzzo, Guttenberger and TQ. (TQ batted for both teams).
Jedi Knights: Rivera, Rad, Shirer, Schierer, Matta, Miller, Brock, Pep, Navarez, Sinari, Constantine, McFarlane and TQ.
The Jedi Knights hit lasers all over the field and scored 17 runs. After scoring a pair of runs in the first to go up 2-0, we brought out the light sabers and cut threw the Dark Side’s defense. Brock, Pep, Navarez, Constantine and TQ formed the rebel alliance, scoring 5 runs.
Vadar’s Dark Side rounded the bases like Jabba The Hutt. They could not master the pitching of Rick “Hans Solo” Brock. Rick deserved the moniker, Hans Solo, because he only gave up solo runs in the 5th, 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. Darth Vader (A New Hope): “The force is strong with this one.” Rick was aided by three defensive double plays. One by Rad, Matta and Miller. One by Shirer, who jumped on his pod racer and chased down a sinking liner, in right center field. Shirer then threw to Matta, doubling off the runner at 2nd base. The last was a ground ball that Rad, Shirer, (playing SF), and Miller turned. Remembering the words of Yoda, the Jedi Knights executed well. Yoda, (The Empire Strikes Back): “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”
The final score was Vadar’s Dark Side: 4 - Jedi Knights 17.
Vadar’s Dark Side, Storm Troopers:
Netzel: 2/3.
JD: 2/3.
Newman: 2/3.
Guttenberger: 2/3.
Jedi Masters Who Used The Force:
Rivera: 3/4 with a double and a triple.
Rad: 3/ 4 with a triple.
Shirer: 4/4.
Matta: 3/4 with a triple.
Constantine: 3/3.
TQ: 2/3.
Anyone know why the Star Wars movies were released in this order: 4,5,6,1,2 and 3?
In charge of scheduling, Yoda was.
