Tuesday February 19, 2019 Field D

Today at Metroplex field the weather was great to start the game.  Mostly cloudy and no problem with the sun.  Warriors manager Larry Powell lined up 15 players to play the Braves today.  Gonzalez leds off followed by Jim V., Zakrowski, Scarbrough, Rutan, Vanderberg, D’Herin, Ridley, Hawbaker, Boito, Wheeler, Ayer, Gibson, Goreth and Lawson.  Braves manager Larry Strait’s player take the field and will bat as follows; Newton, Learn, McLellan, Peski, Burtner, Kreiger, Strait, Herb O., Lopiccolo, Andrews, Michalski, LaMay, LeTourneau and Hunter.

Fred G. starts the game with a base hit and he is still running.  Jim V. and Zakrowski, Rutan, Vanderberg, Ridley, and Hawbaker all single to the result of 4 runs in the first.  Brave’s Newton leads off with a single, Learn, McLellan, Burtner, Kreiger have base hits to follow and the Braves post 3 runs.  After holding the Warriors scoreless in the second Braves add 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. Warriors add 2 runs in the 3rd on Hit from Gonzales, Jim V., and Zakrowski.  The Braves after the first two outs of the inning, had singles from Learn, McLellan, Peski, Burtner, Kreiger and Strait to post 5 runs.  After 3 the score was Braves 10 and Warriors 6. 

Braves add 5 runs in the 4th and 5th innings while holding the Warriors scoreless.  Both teams posted O’s in the 6th.  In the 7th manager Powell must have promised his player a beer after the game because they came out with Freddy still running the rest of the team trying to catch him.  Rutan, Vanderberg, D’Herin, Ridley, had base hits, Hawbaker and Boito double, then singles from Wheeler, Ayer and Gibson tallied 7 runs to get back in the game.  Braves came back with 3 in the bottom of the 7th.  Score now 23 Braves 13 Warriors.  Here comes Gonzalez with a single leading off, and six more singles from the next 8 batters added 4 more the give them 17 runs.  Braves pushed across one more in the bottom of the inning,

Warriors were held to a single run in the ninth.  Final score Braves 24 Warriors 18.
