These two team matched up well today on Field C. With a strong wind blowing in from the north today, both team came out swinging the bats in the 1st inning.  Before all of the fans were covered up with blankets both team scored 5 runs in the first without an out being recorded.  Manager King put this line up together: S. Hill, McLellan, Marinacci, Levesque, LeTournes, Zakrowski, King, Stepp, DePalma, Strait, Ducham and Gibson.  Manager LaMay posted this order:  Andrews, Thompson, Laffoon, Taylor, Miller, Guspyt, Jones, Kline Waddell, Leggett, Welton, Moots, L. Baker and G. Baker. 
King led off the second with a home run to deeeep right field.  Step singled and Ducham lined a double in the gap for the second run of the inning.  Cubs came up with the first of three straight zero run innings.  Tigers added two more in the third on McLellan’s single, Hector’s double and base hits off the bats of Levesque and Zakrowski.  After both teams failed to score in the fourth, the score was Tigers 9  Cubs 5.  Ducham led off the 5th with a liner up the middle (about 5 ft) for a single, Hill hit a long double to left center and McLellan followed with a home run to the fence in right field.  Tigers up 12 to 5.  Waddell led off the bottom of the 5th with a base rap, after a long fly out off the bat of Leggett, Welton and Moots walked and Lee Baker ripped one up the middle and Andrews cleared the bases with a home run in the gap in right center.  Score now Tigers 12  Cubs 10.
Cubs showing good “D” in the 6th by turning a 6 4 3 double play after a single off the bat of King.  Then a walk to Taylor and base hits from Miller and Guspyt an infield error, followed by base hits from Kline and Waddell and Fulton driving in the fifth run of the inning.  Cubs take the lead 15 to 12.   Both team scored 2 runs each in  the 7th.  Tigers started the 8th with a Levesque double and singles from LeTournes and Zakrowski but the rally fell shore as the Cubs turned a 6 4 3 double play to end the inning.  Cubs added one more run in the bottom of the inning to take a two run advantage into the ninth inning.  Tigers were zeroed out in the ninth and final score was Cubs 18 Tigers 16.
