Joe D’Herin’s “Devils” took on JD Pride in a hard fought battle that ended in a Devil victory, 21-17, but JD Pride put up a tough fight, playing two men short. The Devils fielded 13 players: Hicks, Hamilton, McKinnon (showing off a very large splint on his left hand due to an injury last time these two teams met), Held, Farinas, Guzzo, D’Herin, Weiland, Essenmacher, Fox, Reponen, Negrin and Wells (winning pitcher), while JD Pride had only nine in the batting order: Rivera, Pcholinski, Keller, Jacobs, M. Gonzalez, Denny, Coffman, Capozzi, and Crowell.

The Devils started the first with a five run explosion, with seven base hits total. JD Pride came back in the third with a seven inning game, sending ten men to the plate, being led by Keller’s double and Pcholinski’s triple. They actually made no outs as they tied up the game, 8-8. The Devils then pulled away, scoring five in the fifth, five in the seventh and three in the ninth. JD Pride came back, scoring two in the sixth and two more in the eighth.  They were down by ten going into the bottom of the ninth, when they got six, but fell short by four.
