Getting a little pine time

With 57 players, we were able to put together six very competitive teams today and saw some of our best games to date. The National League took to Field B and saw Team Waddell take an early lead and build on it to pound out a 16 to 9 victory over Team Mills Team Waddell scored twice in the first with consecutive singles by Ravo, Augenstein, Black, Fitzke, and Wilson. Team Mills answered with three in their half of the inning an took their only lead as Taylor (just in from Canada) Chrest, and Chamblee each scored. The second inning saw Team Waddell score two more when the bottom of the line up lite it up for three runs. Teams Mills went four and out. Team Waddell scored five runs and took the field despite only having one out. Larry Chrest hit a double and scored for Team Mills in the top of the fourth inning .Eddie Sullivan started a two run rally for Team Waddell and padded their lead.

Jim McPartlan singled and scored in the top of the fifth, while the home were held scoreless despite batting seven guys. The sixth inning was a slug fest with both teams scoring three runs. The inning was highlighted by great defense play by Jim McPartlan. Both teams must have tired of running the bases as both teams were held scoreless in the seventh. Larry Chrest scored for the fourth time in the eighth inning and Bess scored for the thrird time in the bottom of the inning. Unfortunately for Team Mills the bats remained silent and were unable to put up any runs. As a result of having the lead, Team Waddell didn't have to bat and walked away with their 16-9 victory.
