Field D

Now that's a line-up

Two teams of twelve contested on field D ... Great Turnout Guys!

The visitors, pitched by JD Davis got things going with a five run 1st inning started by a Fred Dampier lead-off homer.   The home team hurled by Jerry Witter, responded with 3 runs on consecutive singles by Juan Toro, Chris Constantine and Ed Gazarek followed up by a Les Jacobson double.

In the second inning, JD's squad went scoreless but Jerry's dozen racked up a pair to tie the game on a double by Radlein and a triple by Hartley.

In the visitors third, Ron Butler started things off with a lead-off triple and the team managed to send 5 across the plate after a string of  6 consecutive singles.   The home team went scoreless with only Bob Woodard reaching base.

After 3 the score was 10-5

The visitors 4th saw Downs and Wheeler reach base and score just ahead of  another Fred Dampier home run but the streak stopped there.  A double by Radlein paid off for the home team as George scored the only run they managed for the inning.

The visitors went scoreless in the fifth and sixth but the Jerry's home squad racked up 4 in the fifth led by doubles off the bats of Constantine and Jacobson and another 3 runs in the sixth to tie the score after 6 innings, at 13 All. John Byrd, playing up the middle, turned a nice DP to prevent a 5 run inning.

The score sheet for the visitors 7th is a bit muddled but 2 runs crossed the plate in the first half followed by a zero for the home team.

No one scored in the eighth leaving Jerry's sluggers 2 runs down going into the ninth.

The visitors ninth started off with a Wheeler single and then Ron Butler completed the cycle with a home run followed by a Frank Jacobs triple that ended up scoring for 3 runs in the final frame. The home team then went down scoreless for the third straight inning, leaving Marino and Borowicz stranded.

Final Score: 18-13
