RECAP FOR THE WEEK OF 10/19 - 10/22
The National League had another three team game today, Tuesday October 19th. After a bit of sorting out the score sheets, I believe I got them right. Team 1 was managed by Tutrani, Team 2 by O'Callaghan and Team 3 by Witmer. After 3 innings Witmer had jumped out to a 9-1-0 lead and never looked back scoring in all 6 innings they batted in. They did not have to hit in the open inning because of the "protect your lead" way of finishing the last inning. Tutrani and Spit started scoring in the 4th but couldn't catch up. Tutrani scored 5 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th to end up with 9.
Spitaleri scored 2 in the 4th, 5 in the 5th and 7 in the 6th to finish with 14, putting up a goose egg in the open inning.
So the final was 15-14-9 in favor of the Witmer team.
4 hits. Tony L., Bill Rutan with a triple, 2 doubles and a single and Don Scarborough.
3 hits. Kniery, Laffoon, Fred C, Shaffer, Gonzalez, Herb O, Witmer
2 hits. Tutrani, Pete Gelesky. Mike Rosario, Lynch, Vandenberg, O'Callaghan, Skidmore, Castilleja, Meyer, Spitaleri and Fabian.
See y'all next Tuesday

Solivita Game recap. Tuesday, October 19th
Today the Orange team from Winter Haven took on the Red team from Solivita at Diamond Plex. We split 1-1.
Right off the bat, Solivita gave us the what for as they began hitting after the second inning and never looked back. They scored 5 then 4 and 5 until we scored 4 in the fourth. Unfortunately, that would be it for the Orange Men. The final score was 14-4.
Game two was a bit different as Winter Haven scored 5 right from the get-go while holding Solivita to only one run. We went back and forth until the fifth. After that no one scored. With the game tied 10-10, we went into an extra inning, using the runner on second rule. We slapped the ball around scoring five runs right away. That would be enough as Solivita could only score three runs. In the game, Leonard Debroeck got injured in the third inning and JD got hit with a ball in the top of the 8th. BJ Kallister had to come and close out the game with a save.
We look forward to playing Solivita again in November as we look to take on the Kissimmee team next week at Diamond Plex.
Players were Al Guzzo 3/6, 2-BB; Tommy Hamilton 2/5, 2-BB; Dave Doerbaum 3/5, sac and 2-BB; Manny Rios 3/6, sac; Tony Quinones 3/6; John JD Davis 4/6, sustained leg injury; Steve Hicks 3/5, sac; Jose Rodgriguz 2/6; Leonard Debroeck 1/3, sustained shoulder injury; Peter Gutenberger 1/5; Lou Guzman 1/3. BJ Kallister pitched game one and got the save in game 2.
