Tuesday February 13, 2018   Field A

Two teams playing on Field A today were the Flyers and the Braves.  Home team manager Fabian posted this lineup of Boswell, Simon, LoPiccolo, Constantine, Castilleja, Britton, Abramoff, Zakrowski, Benson, Taylor, Fabian and Zukic.  Manager Strait posted this lineup for the Braves:  Marino, Newton, Burtner, Hite, Boito, LeTourneau, Kriger, Fryzowicz, Andrews, Altemose, Strait and LaMay.

Manager Strait came with news today that the Brave’s Ace pitcher this season will be sidelined for the rest of the season with eye surgery and then knee surgery.  Do well Ron we all miss you and wish you a speedy recovery.  Ron has pitched 7 straight shutout innings and another 6 straight in another game this season.

LaMay started on the mound for the Braves and after walking the first 3 batters was replaced by Gerald Andrews.  And infield out scored a run and a double play was turned to end the home half of the first.  After one out Newton singled and Burtner tripled him in.  Then 5 singles from Boito, LeTourneau, Kriger, Fryzowicz and Peske tallied 5 runs for the Braves.  Our new Ace pitcher Andrews held the Flyers scoreless for the next three innings.  Braves added another 5 in the second and 1 in the third.  In the bottom of the fifth inning the Flyers started flapping their wings and batted every one in the lineup to add 6 runs and make the score after Braves 17 Flyers 7.  Flyers with singles in that inning were Simon, Constantine, Castilleja, Britton, Abramoff, Zakrowski, Benson, Taylor, Fabian and Zukis.  Final score was Braves 26 Flyers 11.

Leading hitters for Flyers:  Boswell 2 for 3 w/walk, Simon 1 for 2 and 2 walks, Constantine 2 for 4 and Britton 2 for 4.

Braves hitters: Newton 4 for 5 dbl, Burtner 5 for 5 dbl,3b, Boito 4 for 5, LeTourneau 5 for 5, Kriger, Peske, and Andrews all 4 for 5.

Winning Pitcher Jerry Andrews.
