A great Yankee catcher once said it ain't over till it's over. Well today these two teams nearly proved him wrong. The Braves had out played the Nats through out the game, leading 23 to 5 going into the bottom of the 8th. It became a flip-flop game and the Nats scored 3 in the 8th and 14 in the 9th. only to lose 23 to 22. The Nats had the bases loaded with two outs before a force play at 3rd. ended the game. Hitting heros, there were many as noted below:
Braves
Nationals
Marino 4/5
Bess
4/6
Newton 3/5 D
Hartley
4/6
Burtner 4/5
McLellan
6/6
Hite
4/4 2 D
B.J.
Kallister 5/6 D
Boito 3/4
Hawbaker 4/6 D
Letourneau 3/4 D
Lloyd
3/4 D 2BB
Peske 3/4 D
Many thanks to my good friend Don Ing who is visiting us for a week and did a great job umping. Good to see you at the old ball park. Not to mention that Commander Mike said sales are up at the Legion.
