Field E Slugfest

Today's game was a real nail biter in the end. That was not always the case as The Bulls managed by Juan Toro jumped to an early substantial lead and held it until the seventh inning when the Zebras scratched away at the lead and managed to even up the game at 19 apiece. The Bulls were strong at the plate and on defense with Reagan, Essenmark, Toro, Busch, Coffman, Knox,Crowell, Ridley, Rutan, Shappler, and Bess playing solid ball.

The Zebras had Rivera, Skidmore, Pete, King, Zelazny, Denny, Thiry, Levesque, Boito, Sherrer, Hill, and Wells, who to their credit fought hard all game and were down by as many as nine at one time but never quit. As previously stated they manged to tie the score in the bottom of the seventh at 19 runs after scoring seven runs in that inning. The eighth inning saw the Bulls retake the lead with two runs. Unfortunately for them the bats for the Zebras did not cool down between innings and they scored four runs to finally take the lead.

I guess it was too much to ask that the Bulls would give up, because they came out strong in the ninth by scoring two runs by the lead off hitters. With Bess at first, the next three batters (top of the line up) all flied out. The Zebras came up with the bottom of the line up due to hit.  With the scored tied and two out and runners on 1st and 2nd base, Josh Wells came to the plate and smashed a liner scoring John Bioto from second for the victory. So to sum up, Josh was the winning picture and drove in the winning run. Final Score  Bulls 23, Zebras 24.
