Winter Haven Senior Softball

On Tuesday's game on Field C, the Visitors were manged by LaMay consisting of Taylor, Guspyt, Andrews, Kline, Shaffer, Ducham, Leggett, Moots, Strait, Bloom, Welton, L. Baker, And Johnny Merritt who had 2 of the mot incredible infield hits ever witnessed in WHSS.  Home team was managed by Fabian consisting of Simon, Bess, Minder, King, McLellan, Poke, Wilcox on the mound after a 2 year absence, Dudley, McPartlan, Zakrowski, Morey and Schepler. Visitors started off with a 2 run homer by Andrews.  Home team answered with 3 in the bottom of 1 st on 5 singles.  After 3 the score was home 4 visitors 3. Visitors only managed another run in the 7th and 8th.  Minder had a fantastic catch in LF and Morey a line shot unassisted DP for the home team. Home team put up nickels in both the 4th and 5th and 3 more in the 8th for a final of home 17 visitors 5.  Zakrowski 3-4, Wilcox 3-4 , Poke 2-4 with a triple, McLellan 3-4, King 3-4 , Bess 2-4, Simon 4-4, Taylor 3-4, Guspyt 2-3 , Ducham 3-3 , Bloom 2-3, Merritt 2-3.     I want to commend both teams for keeping the game moving. Not once were we lacking for an umpire, base coach or an on deck batter. We finished by 11:00. Thanks gentlemen.
