Today's game was the final one for this year's season.
The Braves managed by Larry Strait, played the Warriors, managed by Larry Powell on Field B.
The Braves started off by scoring 5 runs in the first inning, 2 in the second, and 4 in the third. The Warriors finally scored 3 runs in the third inning and 7 in the fourth inning. Both teams scored 2 each in the fifth inning. The score after sixth innings was Braves 13 Warriors 12. In the top of the ninth inning, Braves lead was 16-13.
The Warriors came to bat in the bottom of the ninth needing three runs to tie.The bottom of the Warriors lineup came through and scored 4 runs to win the game 17-16. Nik Burns got the winning hit.
Winning pitcher was Hal Ridley.
Outstanding defensive plays were made by Don Scarbrough who
threw two runners out at home plate and one at third base.
Leading hitters for the Warriors were: Nic Burns 4-6, Danny Parker 4-5,
Bob Vandenburg 4-5, Mark Gallagher 4-5, Bill Ayer 3-5 one triple.
Top hitters for the Braves were: Bill McLellan 3-5 two home runs, Joe Peskie 4-5 one home run, Herb Oesterreich 4-5 one home run,
