King's Kruisers vs Fabe's Flyers started off rather slow and ended with a bang in the lowest scoring game ever witnessed. Ended up 7-4 in favor of the Flyers. There were only 8 batters on each team as Don Witmer and Steve Hicks played defense for both
teams, hence so many at bats in a game that only plated a total of 11 runs. 79 year old RON Thompson pitched the entire game for the Flyers and in the bottom of the 8th inning hit a rocket down the right field line into the corner and ran like Eddie Hurn for
an in the park 3 run homer. And it was legitimate. He beat the double relay to the plate by 2 steps.
First to note that both catchers Johnny Merritt and Lee Baker caught foul balls for outs.
There were few errors in the game as always but very few.
Now for the hitters. King's. Miguel 2-5. Acetta 3-5. King 3-5. Wayne 2-5. Lopiccolo 3-5.
Fabe's. Coffman 4-5. Spitilari 2-4 Schapeler 3-5. Boito 2-4. Fabian 2-5. Thompson 2-5.
