Our own Lake Wales Legends swept their division to take the 65s AAA title including beating up on a 60s AAA team (27-14) and defeating a 70s Majors team three times. The Legends have now won a ticket to the 2014 Tournament of Champions to be held next February also here in Polk County. The 70s American Legion Post 8 AAA team also qualified for the TOC.
The Legends All Tournament selections were Don Atkins, Ron Butler, Chuck Duff, Don Erb, Don Held, and Don Witmer. Congratulations on a tournament well played guys.
Note that on the Legends you had to be explicit when you hollered Don, Ron, Gary, or Bob. At one point the line-up sounded like a European Soccer Team; DeFalco, D'Herin, DiPietro, D. Held, D.Witmer, D. Erb, D. Atkins ... say it out loud ... oh well, I guess you had to be there.
